    Glock doesn't make a double-action .45ACP.

I don't care for DA, but it's hard to argue with the Sig 220 or HK.

The best DA? Well, it really depends on the shooter & how much time & effort they put into learning that trigger. I smirk at people that spend way too much on the newest & greatest & don't dedicate themselves into learning their equipment.
To more directly answer your poll question, I'd go w/ the HK USP 45 simply because that is the one that has worked best for me & with me.

    Sorry about that, Shmackey!

The question that I should have asked is:

"Who makes the best non-single-action autoloader in .45 ACP?"

The Sig is the best, because they don't try to make a double stack magazine for a round that's practically a half inch wide.

While not the best trigger, the HK USP offers a very managable grip and a really excellent recoil reduction system.

My old 10 round Tanfoglio Witness had a very small grip.

The best DA .45 ever was the old HK P9S.

SIG makes the greatest DA .45ACP pistol... the almighty
    P220

A close second goes to the HK USP series.

I would say a tie between the CZ-97 and the Sig 220 depending on what feels best in the hand. :uhoh:

The SIG P220 and P220ST are very nice (I have a P220ST), but I also am very happy with the performance of my Glock 30.

    I voted HK (hey, what's new... ;))

I really like the twelve pounds of consistent initial DA pull on my USP, smoothened over thousands of rounds and dry-firings. Allows for a more confident cond 2 carry. :D

Ill go between the Sig and CZ...depending on your guns role in life. If its a CCW...the 245 is hard to beat. For a smaller gun anyway...the 97 and 220 are both fine examples of what guns can be..........
    shoot well

I voted Glock because its my favorite make.

Though my true feelings were toward CZ for the 97b

I only have one true double action .45 auto. It's a Ruger P97DC.
Soooooo, anybody wanna guess what I voted for???

Seems like the results are roughly equal to pricetag?

Bren has it: either CZ or SIG, depending on what feels best in your hand. Both are outstanding weapons. However, the CZ may need some tuning to feed hollowpoints reliably - don't know about the SIG.

The only two DA .45 auto's that I've ever owned
    are the H&K USP-F, and the SIG-Sauer P220. Both
are truly remarkable firearm's in their own right.
I think it comes down to individual taste; and for
me, the H&K was just too darn large. OTOH, the
SIG with its sleek design was the "perfect fit" for
me. Add to that, SIG's stone-cold RELIABILITY,
    OUTSTANDING ACCURACY, and SUPERIOR
DESIGN (CRAFTSMANSHIP) and you have a
    winner!:) :D :uhoh:

    "Best" labels are always subjective.

Subjectively, if my wife handed me her credit card over breakfast and said, "Get yourself the DA .45 you want," I would go out and buy a SIG Sauer P220, in my opinion the best DA/SA .45 on the market.

Smith Wesson Performance Center CQB or their Shorty 45.
Very smooth da trigger pull and super cocked trigger release.
Has trigger reset as short as best 1911.
Only 45 autos I've shot that come close to perfection da.

The CZ-97 is so close but takes second to the SIG P220.
If CZ did just a fewof things... it would tie or beat the SIG.
    1. Plastic guide rod needs to go.
    2. 12# spring needs to be 16#.
    3. Throated at the Factory for JHP feeding.
    4. Fix the magazine gap.
    5. Use two screws on the grips intead of one.
    6. Give it a decocker.
    That's about it...

Oh... and make a "Commander" version. A 4 inch version would be joygasmic. (especially with a matching reduction in the grip length)

I voted the H&K USP which I feel is the finest .45 DA/SA full size there is. If it was to be a full size for CCW then my choice changes to the Sig Sauer P220.

I voted Sig-Sauer because the P-220 has the best double action pull I've ever felt. But I think the USP 45 is a superior handgun overall.
