Who makes this big 'ole shotgun shell bandoleer?

You can find those in a lot of places, just search for bandoleers.

Most of them don't work very well. They are loose, flop around and twist sideways with the weight of the shells. There is nothing to secure them to your torso. If you bend over the whole thing falls forward, not good. All of this makes it very difficult to get the shells out with one hand while holding your shotgun.

The shell carrier belts that go around your waist are secure and much better.

www.3gungear.com has bandoleers that are secured and do work. The site is under construction right now.

To keep my Bando from flopping around, I secure it to my duty belt w/ a Police style belt keeper.

Blackhawk used to make a chest carrier for shotgun shells. I prefer that much more to the bandoleer style carrier. I use pouches for SG shells when carrying the SG along with another weapon. I will see if I can find a pic or take a pic of mine.

Re: Shotgun bandolier

Just a suggestion: unless you have your heart SET on a bandolier, maybe try a shellbelt instead. There's a member of this forum selling 'em-cheap.

Look under the classifieds here-listed as 'Accessories'.The member's forum name is RangerM9.Scroll down in the post;price is reduced to $10 or less ,each, shipped. They hold 26 rds.Price drops if you buy 2 or more.

I'm ordering two of these shellbelts myself.I bought my first one in 1971 and it's getting pretty ratty-looking!

I strongly agree with realbigo & MAX 100. In a WorstCaseScenario, bandoliers are likely to get in your way, whereas a shellbelt will never slide down over your shoulder and land on your gun-gripping forearm at a bad time.:banghead:

Maybe kinda off topic, but a MOLLE vest works well for having a few shells close @ hand.

I meant to add this to my last post as an 'edit'.But goofed.

If you're interested in a MOLLE vest with lots of loops to hold shotgun shells,LED flashlight, etc. one source is cheaperthandirt.com -item #'s:MOLLE-305 or MOLLE-50.

Gnarly,

My apologies, got busy at work and didn't get to the post office today. Should make it there tomorrow so they will ship Thursday. again, sorry for the delay (they are packed and ready to go).

PS...to anyone interested, i have only 3 shotgun belts left, plenty of rifle shell bandoleers, but the belts are down to the last few.

# of rounds

Holds 26 rds. for shotgun shell belt ; 50 rds. bandolier for rifle/lg. handgun, I believe.

There's a picture under original post: Buy/Sell/Trade:Accessories on this forum, entitled: Shotgun shell belts and Rifle shell bandoliers (WI) $12 shipped....(price has since been reduced).Posted 7/28.

Crickey....$30.
I got a 25 shell belt at Dicks for $5.
Buy 2 for $10 and just buckle them to each other instead of paying $30 for one...

Allen makes a very good shell belt that holds 25 shells. I have two of them. They are $6 @ Midway USA.

Hunter has the leather shotshell belts & bandoleers but be ready to drop some bucks. They are also available @ Midway USA.
