Speaking of slippage: MCgunner, have you noticed any tendency in your Kolpin to slide forward?

Yeah, it will on recoil. I have a slip on recoil pad on the gun, rubber, and pull it up over that and it helps retain it in place. Got a little extra stiction on that rubber I reckon. It fits pretty tight, but it's new. I couldn't stretch it over the stock from the rear, had to slide it over the front. Elastic like that has a tendancy to stretch and become less elastic over time. Time will tell. The gun sits, though. Ain't like I'm out there shooting it all day, so if it eventually loses its stretch, for eight bucks I'll just get another one.

The butt cuff shell holders do not slide around if you screw in the rear sling swivel through them.

As I was shooting today I had some time to ruminate about this.

I use a shotgun for home defense, sometimes as a truck gun. Shot for the former, slugs for the latter.

I do not like ammo carriers on my shotguns.

I really do not need many shells. Perhaps a dozen would do.

What is in the tube is probably all I will get time for at home, and my loaded handgun is a quicker reload anyway.

So, an ammo pouch of some sort would probably be best in the truck.

Still need more practice, loading with one shell at a time was quicker than two at a time. That is what happens when you do not practice regularly. Took a bit to get back into the rythym of loading and shooting, a tube magazine works best when you are continuously reloading it, a lesson I had forgot.

Did I mention that the detachable box magazine was a greater invention than sliced bread?:D

Oh, and I have an internal storage system for green chile that works really well.;) <burp>
