I wouldn't take it that far. ATS-34 is a Japanese steel, but many US makers and manufacturers use it.

Ginsu is just a marketing name for a line of knives made in Arkansas by the Douglas Quikut Division of the Scott Fetzer Company, a Berkshire Hathaway company.
I always thought Ginsu was a Japanese produced knife marketed in the US and their appearance in the sporting knife market forced be to dig into their background. I was surprised to find they are and always have been an American company using a Japanese sounding name for marketing purposes.
So, American company, American manufacturing facility in AR, American design, using Japanese laminated steel. Japanese sounding name.
