And what do you use? I am gonna try something to help seeing the sights better.

I use whiteout on many of my sights. It's easy to remove and only requires touching up after every 4 or 5 trips to the range.

I bought an assortment of hiviz and glow in the dark paint from the Sportsmans Guide years ago. It has since lost it's glow but still works ok.
Application is easy just use a toothpick.
If I want some again at some point the hobby supply stores sell little bottles or I may use some nail polish.

I paint my sights with Appliance White touch up. After it dries I put a coat of Glow in the dark Nail Polish. It lasts a long time and if you put it under a flashlight or bright light bulb for 10 seconds it will glow for 15 minutes or so.

Since I found the Hi-Viz front sight on the 4"SP101, no one paints my sights; I just got the Hi-Viz F/O for my GP100. What an improvement!

I use a lil can of Rustoleum and a tooth pick too.
I found it much tougher than the Testors I tried prior to that.

A friend had some hi-vis sight paint. It was green. I really like it on my front sight.

When I did paint my sights I used Testors Fluorescent Yellow. Good stuff. My current gun doesnt need it, but I do have a bottle on hand.

I got the hivis stuff too. I've since updated the department's shotgun sights with the orange paint. I've also used the glow in the dark kind on my 92FS.

I don't know if they still make the hivis packs, but I'd go with Testors when I run out.

TruGlo high vis paint with toothpicks. I bought the artist brush and lost it, so I used the toothpicks. Also painted my LCP. Both have red dots on the rear sight and an orange dot on the front.

Go to Walgreens® and buy the following "SINFUL COLORS" Nail Polish: #53 Summer Peach (for the front sight), and #56 Neon Melon (for the rear sight). Degrease the sights and when dry put two coats of "White Out" on them. After it's dry apply two coats of nail polish. When done your gun(s) will look like this..........

I use Birchwood Casey Fluorescent Touch-Up Sight Pens. They come in Red, Green and white and are also sold in kits. I bought the Red/White kit and they work extremely well...

See them HERE.

That may work pretty well I guess, but man!
It looks like something a clown would carry at the circus.
:D:what:

At the risk of losing my man card, I'll tell you my secret. My former daughter in law was a cosmetologist and she recommended a nail polish called "OP". It apparently is the Cadillac of nail polishes and will last forever. I've found it at Meijer, Walmart and most supply houses. I've been using it since 2007.

Nail polish here as well. (I have my own....thank you. ;))

Picked it up on clearance at K-Mart right after Halloween. Something like 30 cents per bottle.

Degrease well.
White base coat, followed with 2 coats of fluorescent orange and clear over top of that. Sand lightly with 600grit to take the shine off.
The clear coat keeps anything that you might get on the sight (Hoppes, brake cleaner, etc..) from smearing the orange paint. If the clear smears it cleans up pretty easily. If the orange smears it is seen very easily all over the barrel.

I normally thin the colored stuff down a little with acetone so it goes on smoother and without bubbles or pockets of air.

The Flo Orange is the same color as a bottle of sight paint I bought about 5 years ago, even smells similar. I tend to think that the sight paint is the same stuff as nail polish anyway.

This was taken between coats of the orange. The white border was covered in the next coat, but you get the idea.

Lol.....
That looks EXACTLY like the front sight on my 357 Blackhawk.
Except, I painted mine white instead.
I may have to give "orange" a try one of these days as an experiment.
I went with "white" because it's easier for me to see in low light.
I also painted the lil "box" outline on the rear sight with "white" as well.

When I paint a sight, I use nail polish.
Often when I was shooting Bullseye matches, I'd blacken the front & rear sight with plain old black marking pens. It would last about 2 matches & is soooooo easy to reapply!;)
