Who' s getting ready for Public Hunting, Sam HOuston NF

I was thinking of the Sam Houston National Forest. I heard lot s of success by hunters in the area. I have to get me APH Permit and the TPW license if its the only option to hunt deer the cheap way.
ANyone here regularly bags their deer ? THey only allow the harvest of bucks though but you have to apply for antlerless permit which is already closed. ANy advise at this late ?

I just got my license and my aph. My buddy and I are also thinking of trying it out. I've never been there before and I'm from Houston. Im sorta new to hunting.

You two should try out www.texashuntingforum.com. It will allow you to reach more hunters in Texas for this kind of info.
