I have a snubby 629 and I want it ported.
I know, I know, some folks don't like porting, I just happen to like it.
So anyway, who would you recommend?
I know Magna Port and others, but I think their turnaround time can be measured by wind erosion on Mt Everest. ;)
I don't want to be without my toy for a prolonged period of time.

I carry a MagnaPorted 686 2 1/2" and feel the same as you - I like it. There is a regular litany of reasons not to port a carry gun, and nearly all are either exaggerated correctable.

Don't know MagnaPorts' current turnaround, but the S&W PC offers it as a regular gunsmithing service - just a 'phone call away.

I used to live about 20 minutes from MagnaPort and have known Larry Kelly and family for some 25 years. They do fine work in every respect. Thye are good folks as well. Can't image much more than about 10days to do...most of that would be UPS or whatever. Call them and ask them...also ask about expediting....?!

Oh my Gila.
If I lived that close to them, I can just imagine what all my guns would look like. Ported, polished and totally tricked out. :D

I will use Magna Port, just gotta get it shipped off to them.

I should probably get them to do a trigger job also.

What other work has anyone had done by the folks at Magna Port?

DeltaElite,

Are you really in Tennessee? If so, I might be willing to help you out by buying your gun, and then you can order yourself a brand new one that's ported.

How old is your gun? Hammer-mounted firing pin?

I live and shoot in the Nashville area.

Greg

Greg,
Thanks for the offer, but I live in Az. I am rather attached to this gun, since it is a fixed sight version made for Camfour.
I wanna work on it, instead of getting another.
