who uses new york reload?

Usually I have the S&W 19-3 or G19 on the hip, the P232 (my always gun) at the 7 o'clock, ankle or left jacket pocket and a G34 or BE 9900 in the glovebox w/ 2 spare mags.
Fear of lack of shooting back or something boardering those lines. Anybody who's ever been on the receiving end, either in war or the street, knows there never seems to be enough ammo or buddies around. lol

Regards and Semper Fi!

I do not know what a NY reload is but I am assuming that it means carrying 2 guns instead of a reload for a single firearm. Is that correct?

i have in the past, when i did it was a xd sc model and a xd service model.

i will again in the future when i get a s&w 442.

Glock 19 on right side in a Blade-Tech paddle, P2AT in the left front pocket.
Glock 17+2 mag (19 rounds) and a Surefire light in a paddle on the left side.

I'd rather do a regular reload with the Glock, but that might not work for various reasons.
It's good to keep the NY reload as an option.

The majority of time i carry just one S&W 637 in the right front pocket with two speed loaders in a pouch in the left back pocket.

Sometimes though i carry two 637s plus the speedloaders.

At all times One of my 357 snubs IWB and a 642 or Bobbed 37 in my pocket + reloads for both.

Glock 19 and a Glock 26 when I carry 2 guns. Otherwise my G19 with XS sights and 2 additional mags. When the clothing permits...either my sig or my 1911. But I am a firm believer in the NY Reload. Quicker to grab another already stoked gun than to grab another mag. at times. IMO.

You guys must live in some really bad areas to carry two firearms.

Any area can be a bad area at a specific point in time.

I have carried two at a time and am thinking about doing it again - P32 in front right pocket and 642 in a Smartcarry.

Currently I carry

a Glock 23 behind my right hip with two spare 13 or15 round mags on my left. An LCP now rides in my left pocket constantly. I carry a spare mag in my right pocket for the LCP. A buddy of mine just bought a second KT 380 and added the crimson trace sights to it. He now carries both, one in his shirt pocket and a second in his pants pocket. He also is usually carrying a birds head 44-40 on his belt.

It's ironic that this is called a NY reload when it seems that NY is not much in favor of concealed carry. That's part of the reason I moved from NY to Texas. I carry two Glock 19s in a double shoulder rig.

st. louis, mo, I had 3 people try and mug me last year, luckily bullets never had to be fired but still.

I carry 2 guns because I'm a sucker for revolvers and i have found no matter how fast I try to reload my gun (even with moonclips) drawing another is just that much faster.

They just call it that because it was popularized by the nypd during new yorks more crime ridden days

Carjackings, muggings, armed robberies, drive by shootings, rapes, murders, kidnappings, road rage, home invasions, open air drug markets, you name it (Arlington/Alexandria, VA and Prince Georges County, MD). I have permits so I make good use of them.

Also, considering the amount of firepower the criminals have and that they more often than not operate in groups, I consider myself to be quite undergunned no matter what handguns I carry.

Wait wait....

You carry THREE pistols?!??!!

To each his own man.... but that seems a bit much.

I'm debating carrying 2 sinch gp100s some would consider that to much (in weight atleast) but its what I'm comfortable, his 3 guns still weigh less then my 2 though.

hes gonna have alot more builts them me at the same time

Plus if you are with a friend that knows his/her way around guns, you can throw them your BUG and use your primary. Very unlikely maybe, but at least an option.

I sometimes carry both my 1911 (IWB strongside) and my S&W 642 (pocket). Just depends on my mood I guess.

I've often wondered how many guns I could CCW. I'd be tempted to try it, if I had these guns:

- My 1911 IWB, strong side
- My S&W 642 in a pocket holster, plus the following:

- A Khar IWB weak side
- A S&W J Frame or Colt DS in the small of my back
- Kel-Tec P32 or P3AT in each front cargo pocket (2)
- A S&W J Frame on the right ankle
- Another on the left
- A NAA minimag on a lanyard around my neck
- Another NAA mini in one of those nifty belt buckles
- A pair of 1873 SAAs in shoulder rigs under an over coat

That would make 12  :neener: .

And again, I only carry the first two, the rest I pulled out of my backside. Though I bet it'd be a PIA, it'd be darn fun to try! And given the proper gear and attire, I bet it would actually be doable.

In the winter time, when access to my primary carry piece is hindered by a zipped up coat, I have taken to slipping my little Taurus Model 85 into a chest pocket. As this is a ski coat with a vertical zipper along the centerline, access is quick; very much like drawing from a shoulder holster.

It occurred to me after a little while doing this, that that in most situations, the revolver would be the first gun, making it the primary, and my P7 the back-up. This means that, in effect, I am carrying a larger, more powerful gun as back-up to my primary. In deference to the closest metropolis to me, I have taken to calling it my "Detroit reload."

Where I live, 3 stolen bicycles in a month = a crime wave.

But there was a shooting less than half a mile from my place last year. Two BGs beat up a guy who was taking out the garbage not far from here last spring.

Bad people are often mobile. They don't always stay where you put them. Inconsiderate bastards!

You can't schedule emergencies.
