So it's been on my list for a while to get a new semi-auto TM1 from Auto-Ordnance and SBR it to closely resemble the WW2 model. I remember for a while Kahr Arms was making them (for Auto-Ordnance?).

Does anyone know if the ones currently being made are produced by a separate company than Auto-Ordnance or directly by them and if they are still good quality?

EDIT: I guess my question at this point would be, does anyone know if the current ones being produced are good quality or not so good?

Thanks Coyote, so Kahr still makes them. I've heard mixed reviews of them, some great some not so great.

Kahr was offering them factory SBR which means that while still taxed it is at the lower level or $5 rather than the normal $200 if you do it yourself. All the paperwork is the same, just the tax amount is different.

Contact Kahr for information.

Couple things. No matter who does it the SBR tax is still $200 to transfer to an individual, an AOW is the only tax that is $200 up front and only $5 to transfer. Also, their SBR model is like $800 more or something crazy, so it's a lot cheaper to SBR it after the fact, plus you get to play with it while you wait. :)
