Why a 410 shotgun.

I use one of my 16 410 shotguns for hunting. I have used them for game as large as Javelina. Dove season this year got off to a bit of a slow start as far as the birds were concerned. I managed to get out 12 of the 15 days and limited on every day. My average round count was 19 rounds for 10 birds. This year I added a remington 11-84 to my 410 arsenal. What a fun shotgun to shoot. My O/U and 11-84 were the top performers but the winchester lever and the Safir T14 were not far behind. In general the lighter 410 frames make quick swinging onto target easier.
The only time I use my 12 and 20 for hunting is for waterfowl. The 410 just does not have what it takes when loaded with steel shot to make it effective enough against long ducks/geese on the wing. As far as HD, I am not a fan of any shotgun. At SD ranges there just is not enough pattern spread to make it more effective than a pistol and no where near as easy to handle.
