Why all the posts on people getting shot?

Further, many of the stories wouldn't even be there at all if these cowardly criminals knew there was always a CCW holder around somewhere. Most (or all) mass shootings have taken place in gun free zones. Criminals prey on the weak. People with CCWs are not weak.
 
A really bad part about mass media is their repeated unwillingness to do even-sided reporting. I have kept a personal log of stories in which responsibile gun owners have squelched mass shootings and other crimes. None of these selected stories ever made the major newspapers or TV news. Media is all about the ratings. "CCW Holder Steps in to Prevent Body Counts", that's boring and won't boost ratings. Unfortunately, we live in a twisted society. Just be aware of that, and you’ll have a chance at staying sane.
 
Even a person who grew up in the worst environment knows s/he is doing wrong by killing others, so why do they?

I don't think this is true. Some people are not immoral, they are AMORAL. They honestly don't care that you care, and don't bat an eyelash or feel the twinge of remorse before/after committing a crime. Humans desire to stay alive can override any sense of morality a person holds, anyways.

This is why prison cannot re-educate folks. You can't re-teach a morality without another lifetime of moral influence. Basically, we are locking them in and us out for everyone's safety.

I like to read about gun-related or gun control incidents because they can and will be used against us. Know thine enemy.
 
I don't have facts to back this up, however my take on this is that shootings, as with most things, is somewhat consistent in occurrence - so many per year on average.

With that in mind, this is an election year and in the arena of ideas, the other team is laying the groundwork prior to their predictable arguments by publicizing these incidents more than they otherwise would.

What they're NOT publicizing is the amount of violent crime diverted and salvation garnered through the legitimate use of firearms by the law abiding.

While any shooting is tragic, the numbers of the saved makes it THE cogent argument.

That alone would offset the fervor for disarmament, but let's not let logic get in the way of strong emotions. Shame on them.
 
I view it as us staying up to date on the fuel the anti's are going to be using against us. Carolyn McCarthy isn't exactly going around trying to ban a Corvette or Hum-vee as opposed to the Barrel shrouds that flip up.

Yep, the same exact thing I was going to say too. Too much dry weeds. A fire started by the Brady bunch is going to engulf this mass of volatile organics and consume us all, like it did in 1964. We have to put some water on it to keep it damp.
