A couple of weeks ago on Tom Gresham's radio show "Gun Talk" there was talk about the new and improved Ruger Mini-14s showing accuracy in the 1.5 to 2 MOA range.

That would mean groups of about 1.5 inches to 2 inches at 100 yards.

But this was allegedly only the brand new ones.

My opinion of the Mini-14 came directly from watching "The A-Team". If Mr. T, using a Mini-14, can't hit anyone at a distance of 20 yards or less, why would I want one? :)

Why people compare them to other rifles is beyond me.

Because of the concept of value would be my guess. Since you can get a rifle that does everything the mini does, AND is more accurate, AND has high capacity mags, for less money, they make no sense whatsoever in the current market, cept for the people who just want to pay more for a historical big gun maker name rather than for a "saiga" or "keltec".
