Why did a Republican introduce a carbon copy of the '94 AWB?

Because just because you are Republican doesn't mean you are progun. Hence the past 40-50 years of vastly antigun Republican presidents. The idea you have to be a certain political party to support gun rights is one of the biggest cons that have screwed over Americans for decades.

Why is a message thread entitled "Why did a Republican introduce a carbon copy of the '94 AWB?" not political?

Kirk is my POS Rep. I got to call him on his NRA F rating at a telephone town hall meeting last year. It felt good, but it would feel even better to get him out of office. He's also a big wheel, naturally, in the state Republican party.

From an activism standpoint, I believe it's time for gun owners in his district to get him out, regardless of party affiliation. For the 2nd the Democrat won’t be any worse, and on the other issues they are practically the same as well. The party in this state needs to be taught a lesson.

To be honest though, it's hard to get too worried about federal legislation living in Illinois, since the state legislation is such a dire and constant struggle. Almost a sigh of relief when you see its a federal bill given the odds of it going anywhere.

Zoogster, you said it!
He isn't from Illinois, he is from Chicago. Representing their backwards ideologies.

Yeah I was looking through it, and wow. Its completely ignorant; not only that, but stupid. I really don't think this thing will go through, at least I hope not.

Sorry, folks, I like to poke Mark Kirk (R-Democrats) in the eye as much as the next guy, but we don't do politics in here anymore.
