That is a very naive statement if you really believe it makes for a good argument. It ignores recidivism statistics and a basic understanding of sentencing and parole practices in our country.

cowssurf, you apparently comprehended his statement quite differently than I did.

What I got from his statement was that people who should not be allowed to own firearms should not be allowed to roam around as a change from present law and policy.

On the other hand, you seemed to have gotten that he believes this is possible to do under present law and policy.

I did not get that impression from either my initial reading or subsequent readings.
