Mechanical fascination. I love the symmetry and simple elegance. Exposure. Growing up, everyone had at least one. Someone mentioned the camaraderie. Most responsible gun owners are really nice folks and a common interest always makes for good company. Military experience but that can go back to exposure. For SD obviously. Though I don't relish the idea I am well prepared for any hotdog. Presently giving serious thought to next year's hunting season. I have rifles to suit the need and I'm about disgusted with the price and quality of store-bought meat. Again the symmetry and elegance marks for the appearance of MOST firearms. Hexxuvalot cheaper than building cars. But I fix em for a living so I get that passion somewhat satisfied at work (and get paid for it!!!). Must be what it's like being in the firearm industry. And safe queens take up a lot less room than garage trophies. Not to mention cheaper. And yes. They are soooooooooooooo much fun to shoot!!!!
