She had a doctors apt today and on the way back, we stopped at Cabelas. I been putting together enuf money to buy a new Sig Sauer 1911, govt. model. I went in there to buy a pair of shoes for an upcoming trip to "Lost Wages, NV." While I was shopping for shoes, I noticed her looking at shoes also. Didn't think much about it and after about 30 mins she called me on the phone and said she would wait in the car. I dawdled for about 10 mins looking at the Sigs and shuddered at the prices. Paid for the shoes and went to the car. I got in and she said "Happy Birthday". Naw, she didn't. Did she?

Black box with the Sig Sauer emblem on top and inside a spanky new Stainless 1911, govt. XO model.

With Crimson Trace laser grips no less.

Yeppers, I did marry a winner

My wife did something similar...not really. She took the glock I just bought away and said I could have it back for my birthday.

That is very cool.

I got my wife into shooting and now all she wants is more ammo. She told me the other day that diamonds are not her best friend, bullets are.

She proved that a few years ago. I got home from a hunting trip and there was a brand new Dillon 650 with a case feeder by my reloading room door. It was setup for her favorite caliber, 45 ACP.

That is awesome. My wife bought me a P220R after seeing me eye it. She is my best friend and my biggest fan as I am hers. While she sometimes gets tired of hearing me talk about firearms, she always smiles and says "I am glad you have a hobby that makes you so happy". The first firearm she fired was a 6" 44 Magnum, she loved it. She even shot my 50 BMG. Good women are hard to find, but mine makes me a much better person.

Here, here, a toast to our wives and girlfriends. The good one that keep up straight and shooting straight.

Ain't it nice. :)

My wife is a relatively new shooter and now she's the one dragging me to local gun stores. Somebody has to do it I suppose. She's a natural born shopper and I basically no longer buy guns; she's a natural at that too.

The other day she walked in and announced plans had been finalized for a Cabela's and a Bass Pro Shop to be built. One on our side of town; the other just a few minutes away. The shopper has been [re]awakened.

I'm like you ... I do love my wife. For a variety of reasons of course.

Methinks you won the wife lottery.

So did Officer'sWife's husband! (man that sound's awkward. I guess he can just be referred to as "Officer")

Several years ago, I had a Winchester M94 in 44-40 for sale. GI in Iraq inquired about it and decided against it. His wife contacted me and ended up buying the rifle for him when he got home. He lets his daughter use it for White Tail and I understand she has done quite well with it.

He is currently stationed in FT. Huachuca, AZ and looking forward to retirement.

I feel blessed that I can count him as a friend, to this day.

In the interest of honesty I have an ulterior motive for wanting him to have that weapon. Keep in mind that I have a somewhat old fashioned farm wife attitude. Maybe this will explain it...

When it comes to coyotes I'm kind and forgiving.
But when they get in my chickens they are tired of living.

Dave claims my carbine and Enfield shoot to left. He can sight in his Remington as he pleases.

Treat her good cause she is a keeper. Good luck for many more happy years together.
