Damn gamestalker that's ashame what happened to your friend. When my dad was teaching me to hunt I would shag down his empty hulls. One time he yelled to freeze so I stopped instantly. He walked up and shot a Copperhead laying about a foot past the empty hull. I never saw the snake till after he shot it.
Needless to say I was a lot more aware where the empty's went. Not all got found.
