Why lube cast lead bullets?

Consider it like oil in your vehicles engine. The difference being, one alloy is really hard, and the other is really soft. Without it, the friction created by the burning powder and metal on metal creates enough heat to actually weld globules of lead to your barrel. This gets worse as more lead is 'fused' to your barrel after each shot. If your lubing your own, try a different type of lube. That smoke can get heavy on windless days. But I only shoot outdoors and to me that smoke smells like money in the bank... Good luck and happy shooting.
