None exist, state militias all folded into the National Guard.
You might want to research that statement.

The Colorado State Defense Force absolutely exists as does the Texas State Defense Force

Here is a list of official, state sanctioned, official State Guard Organizations

Very sorry. As you will notice from your nifty website Illinois doesn't have one, and I've never heard of ones in other states before. I've always heard (here even) that the militia today was the NG.

Under CA laws...

CA Military & Veterns Code 120
The militia of the State shall consist of the National Guard, State Military Reserve and the Naval Militia--which constitute the active militia --and the unorganized militia.

CA Military & Veterns Code 121
The unorganized militia consists of all persons liable to service in the militia, but not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

CA Military & Veterns Code 122
The militia of the State consists of all able-bodied male citizens and all other able-bodied males who have declared their intention to become citizens of the United States, who are between the ages of eighteen and forty-five, and who are residents of the State, and of such other persons as may upon their own application be enlisted or commissioned therein pursuant to the provisions of this division, subject, however, to such exemptions as now exist or may be hereafter created by the laws of the United States or of this State.

CA Military & Veterns Code 128
The unorganized militia may be called for active duty in case of war, rebellion, insurrection, invasion, tumult, riot, breach of the peace, public calamity or catastrophe, or other emergency, or imminent danger thereof, or may be called forth for service under the Constitution and laws of the United States. Whenever it is necessary to call out any portion of the unorganized militia, the Governor may call for and accept as many volunteers as are required for such service, under regulations provided by this division.

CA Military & Veterns Code 410
The National Guard, Naval Militia, and unorganized militia when called into active service shall be provided by the State with the supplies and equipment, not supplied by the United States, necessary for the proper performance of functions authorized or prescribed by the laws and regulations of the State and the United States.

CA Penal Code 11460
(a) Any two or more persons who assemble as a paramilitary organization for the purpose of practicing with weapons shall be punished by imprisonment in a county jail for not more than one year or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by both that fine and imprisonment.
As used in this subdivision, "paramilitary organization" means an organization which is not an agency of the United States government or of the State of California, or which is not a private school meeting the requirements set forth in Section 48222 of the Education Code, but which engages in instruction or training in guerrilla warfare or sabotage, or which, as an organization, engages in rioting or the violent disruption of, or the violent interference with, school activities.

I’ve been in and out of the military for a long time with 7 years regular Army and the rest National Guard. I’m currently in the NH National Guard. Back in the 80’s during a period that I was actually out of the military, I was approached by a co-worker in Massachusetts to join the state guard. This guy was a nut job and so were a few of his fellow state guard buddies that I knew (also co-workers). The MA state guard members I met were all a bunch of old guys and seemed to be hoping for some apocalyptic event in order to be actually needed. For them it was an excuse to arm up and play soldier.

I’m anti-government as many of you seem to be. I believe in our system of government. I just don’t believe in some that are in the government.

Since the op is from VA I will include this. There is an obscure law if it has not been done away with that says if you hold a Va drivers license then you are a member eligible for recall to the state millitia. It was still effective in the late 80's we had a class long discussion of it in high school.

Unable

I can't because of birth defects. I tried to enlist in the Marines, Army, and USAF out of high school. Same song: my dwarfed right hand and no toes on either foot prohibit me from joining. In hindsight, their decision was right - I'm 35 and having knee, hip and back problems because of the pounding through my feet (without prosthetic feet, I wear size 3 kids' shoes - about what the average 10 year old wears). I would not have lasted in the Services.

I also cannot serve in the volunteer fire department or on any auxillary police force.

I am a parish pastor, so I am trying to get on at the VFD as chaplain. Oddly, the chief doesn't ever return my calls or letters of interest. So...

I'm Average Joe Citizen. I raise the flag at church each morning and strike it at night. I buy service personnel lunch when I can and shake their hands every time I see them.

May God bless them all...

The term "regulated " in the 2nd, means"equiped" or "well practiced" not the current meaning. You must study the use of the word at the time it was written.

I believe with the 1903 Dirk Act, the Ohio Militia officially became the Ohio National Guard. However, despite the existence of the National Guard, Ohio did still continue a version of the Ohio Militia to protect Lake Erie, as there was no Naval National Guard. Ohio is one of a few states with a naval force; Navy Reserve and the (one-boat-unarmed) Ohio Naval Militia.
In 1961, Ohio implemented a law that made all of Ohio's men and women between seventeen and sixty-seven years of age "eligible" for duty in the Ohio Military Reserve.

Ohio does have it's share of unorganized militias; Unorganized Militia of Champaign County, Northwest Ohio Defense Force, Ashtabula County Militia, Constitutional Militia of Clark County, Constitutional Militia of Highland County, Ohio Militia, Central Ohio Unorganized Militia, Preble County Unorganized Militia, 75th Ohio Militia Rgt, Ohio Defense Force, Ohio Unorganized Militia, 3rd Battalion, A Company (with Mr. T), Columbiana County Unorganized Militia, and a plethora of others.........none appeal to me.

I'm not willing to join any such organization controlled by government either.
Just don't trust them any longer.
If SHTF I may decide to help out, but no one is
going to order me where to go
or what I'll be doing.
My first and foremost duty will be to my family and the surrounding neighborhood's security
against foreign and/or domestic threats.
