Does anyone know why Glock is only making the gen5 pistols in 9mm. The Gen5 guns seem to get good reviews across the board. I certainly like mine more than previous generations. That said, I’d love to see the entire Glock lineup offered as Gen5.

Glock going back to the 2 pin frame is one reason. But that doesn’t answer your question of why they don’t have both frames and different calibers.

There is technically a Gen5 .40 but it's only being used (tested?) down below the border, I think in Brazil.

I would say marketing. Right now 9mm is all the rage and there are tons of 40 S&W 4th Gen Glock trade-ins out there. Once they sold all the 9mms they can, cleared out all the used police guns and convince everyone to go back to 357, 40 and 45, they will likely release 5th Gen in other calibers.

The explanation makes a lot of sense, but it omits the Glock 42, which is absurdly popular in the U.S. market. I'm not asking for a whole mini-MOS developed for it, but they could add a different texture or extended factory magazines, but they aren't doing it.

Let me rephrase the question... besides guesses or suppositions, has anyone seen an explanation from Glock or a gun industry source to explain why they are only produced in 9mm. I am not saying that anyone who posted is incorrect; I just don’t know whether your statements are grounded in fact or are simply your best guesses. I think a Glock Gen5 in 10mm would be very popular.
