I consider myself to be largely libertarian in beliefs. However, I lean Republican went it comes to *trying* to get something positive done politically. Sorry, but the L's are a joke when it comes to being an option. This isn't defeatism, it is cold hard reality. Going with the libertarian party is like pounding sand. Democrats are simply off the table since they are out to ban every single firearm we have and are economically communists.
Finally, the vast majority of these "libertarian" pundits and writers are all former liberal Democrats. Yes, Democrats - not Republicans. That makes you wonder.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but these guys are far more negative toward the Republican Party than the Democratic Party. This is bizarre, since the Republicans share a whole heck of a lot more in common with the Libertarians than do the Democrats. They like to cite that Republican authoritarianism is what creates the big divide, while the Democrats are less hostile to civil liberties. I cannot see this as reality, since Democrats are just as bad and worse with their hatred of the 2nd Amendment, their assault against speech, religion and everything else via political correctness, campaign laws, and assaults on privacy and their social engineering.
These guys are just businessmen. There's MONEY TO BE MADE pumping libertarian BS on the net. People donate and pay attention. It is also divide and conquer. If you can get 5% of the Republican party that leans paleo-conservative to abandon the Republican party, rather than try and reform it - the Democrats win.
Mission accomplished.
Hey, the Republicans do it to. Fake pro-gun organizations that appeal to specific progressive groups and other such things. Designed to take a specific wedge issue and put doubt or disgust in the mind of the voter so at the very least, they stay home on election day.
Border issues was a key issue that made a lot of conservatives stay home on election day. Not like putting the Democrats in power will make the border policy better. It won't. Will make it worse. So how this is reform by being punative toward the GOP is beyond me. Same thing happened with guns.
Remember this? "united we stand, divided we fall"
