After 10 years of carrying various 1911s she got tired of the weight. Now she carries a G19. She doesn't like shoot it as much as she does the 1911s but the ease of maintenance, near guaranty of 100% reliability and her ability do rapidly dump 15 rounds of high performance 9mm HPs into a target all factored into her decision.

My wife carries an FNP-9 that she chose herself. I told her that she was going to carry it so she should choose it. After a relaxing few hours at the gun shop trying out various designs she chose the FNP-9.

my girl carry's a Phoenix Arms .22lr.

I know it's definitely NOT the best choice for a self defense/carry gun, but honestly, she doesn't have trouble handling it and is pretty deadly accurate with it (I'm pretty sure she'd have no trouble nailing someone between the eyes if she had too). So whatever makes her happy I guess...I'd much rather have her carry the .357 (even loaded with .38s), but she doesn't feel as confident with it as she does with the little Phoenix--oh and because it goes with and fits in her purse better *facepalm*. And at lest it's better then nothing.

I'm saving up to hopefully get at lest a 9mm for her to carry (she loves the Ruger P95 and Walther P99) and put the .22 away for practice/fun at the range/desert.

I try talking her into carrying an airsoft because after some of the crap I pull, I'm sure she'd use it on me. Unfortunately for me she's smarter than that & packs a Bersa .380cc. Thank God she thinks the pink grips are too "Pansy"

My wife used to carry a model 36 S&W

My daughter will be carrying an LCP for starters as soon as I get her into the Concealed weapons course. Beyond that, I have been shopping for something with a little more power. I have two Kimber Ultras in case she takes a liking to one. I have also been looking at the Kahr 40s. Unfortunately I like the steel ones and they are a little on the heavy side. In the end though, it will be her decision and I, of course, will pay for it.

A Taurus 357 snub with concealed hammer (had a terrible trigger pull, 16 1/2lbs) with an action job ($65 feels like a Smith) she carries it in a Crossbreed under her apron at her waitress job. 135gr handloads that make a flash and sound to behold.

Glock 19 with a Kel-Tec 32 backup

ETA:
Let your wife/girlfriend pick their own gun. During the last 30 years I can't count the number of guns I bought home "just knowing she would love it", only to have her either hold or shoot it, then give it back to me, saying she docent like it.

wife carries a 357 mag
GF carries a 45 acp
I only carry a 380 acp
I just hope they don't find out about one another

(just kidding... too old for that much fun, you know)

My wife primarily carries an XD-9mm subcompact. When she wears clothes that prohibit hiding a gun of that size she'll carry a Ruger LC9.

This has been historically accurate, though the trend has been that they carry sufficient weight to kill by blunt force trauma. A friend of mine is right now tossing around the idea of what to buy, however, and she is rather partial to the Sig P226 and P229.

My wife has picked the LC9 to carry on her ankle. We're just waiting for our local shop to get it. We're first on the list! Should be soon!

Wife's carry gun,charter-arms "Red-Lady" 38spl.Nice pistol and she shoots it very well. She also "killed two birds" with this one,as red is her favorite color and she figured that I would not be asking to borrow it,lol!!!!! 009-1.jpg
