Will 7.5 MAS Mag.'s Work For .308?

I'm trying to find out if the original 7.5 French MAS magazines will work in the MAS .308 (7.62 X 51 NATO) conversion 49/56 rifles. Thanks.

They should work OK. The rifles were converted after service, and AFAIK, they didn't have to do anything to the mags.

Seems I recall the mags were modified at the conversion and stamped with .308 on them. I could be wrong----as I've only been dealing with the 7.5mm-----there is another 7.5mm 49/56 MAS in the shop that has been calling me------but have had too many other things on lay-a-way to get serious about getting it----maybe it will find a home----soon.
