Asking because in the future I am considering having an 81's barrel rechambered for .32 NAA so it can be dropped in to the 84 which has the mags and extractor and everything for .380, which is what the .32 NAA is basically, a bottleneck .380.

I know, sounds silly, but I just want to know if it can be done.

They make custom .357 Sig barrels for Beretta models, I think you could probably order a custom barrel for this on a model 84.

This is the best info I’ve found on the 80 series Berettas.
Excellent. It says barrels are interchangeable, so I'd have to believe that if the .380 barrel has the same dimensions on the outside, then that means the .32 barrel should be able to handle having the chamber opened up to fit .32 NAA.

Now all I gotta do is hunt down a barrel of find a beat to crap 81 for parts and then find an 84 and I should be good to go.

If you don't already have an 84, then just buy an 81 and rechamber the barrel. The only difference between the two is the barrel and magazine. All the other parts are the same. Also, the 81/84 BB models have a slightly beefier slide, you might want to look for one of those.

I have a 81BB that I got a .380 BDA barrel (same as the 84) and magazines for. Works fine.

I mean, if the extractor and ejectors are the same then sure, I can go ahead with buying another 81. I guess I'll wait tho, seems nobody has any 81's in any condition for less than $300 right now.

I myself am curious in a 96. However, I don't think finding a barrel for one is easy though. I just know they are available.
Wouldn’t be hard to make. 357 sig is a 9mm bullet in a 40sw case so just use a recut beretta 92 barrel, or Taurus pt92/PT99 barrel in the beretta 96 and your pretty well golden. I don’t recall though if the OD of the barrels is different on the 92 and 96 so a barrel bushing could possibly come into play there. I keep hoping for a 40sw upper for my Taurus pistol, and if I ever manage to get a PT101 slide then I will do the 357 sig conversion on that gun. I’m already thinking hard about doing a .380 blowback conversion to it. Not enough time or money to chase so many rabbits these days. Kids are expensive, but they are worth it. My gun collections value hopefully will put me into a good nursing home when the day comes...

I have switched barrels only between my Beretta 81 & 85 with no problem. Even used the single stack 380 magazine for the 32acp rounds. I would like to try the 32naa as well !
