Calls to Lyman have generated tons of wait time, couldn't get through. I have the Lee Pro Auto Disk powder system. Will the Lyman Multi Expanding Die (9mm) hook up to it?
Even if it did, the Lyman unit is not designed to move up and down so the Lee Auto disk would not work anyway. You would be able to remove the spring from the Lee Auto-disk and attach a lever for manual operation.
Lyman's expander is designed to allow for the use of a #55 style powder drop.
There are a couple of guys on Castboolits that make M-die style expanders that fit into Lee dies though.
44vaquero...The Lyman would remain stationary and the round powder disk block slides across the top of it horizontally releasing powder downward through the center of it.
I'll check out cast boolits.
JUST FOUND OUT: Went to the CB site and there's a fairly recent thread talking about using some cheap hardware parts to merge the Lyman die to the powder drop unit. No diagrams or pics though. I appreciate the info. Apparently this has answered my question...unless...
Stull it will not be automatic any longer the Lee unit operates the Auto-Disk is by upward movement inside the expander die pushing on the bell crank moving the disk. You will have to add a lever to manually drop the charge.
