I'm looking to buy an Alessi Bodyguard with pull through snap for my 3" SP101. A fellow THR member has one for sale or a 3" K-frame. Does anyone know if this would fit or is the K-frame too large?

Here is some raw data I found. For those with holster making experience, are these differences significant or would I still have a secure comfortable carry rig?

I Have Two Styles of K-Frame Holsters...

...for revolvers with three-inch barrels.

My three-inch SP101 fits into the DeSantis FBI-contract OWB holster (made for a S&W M-13/65) but has about half an inch of up-and-down slop under the thumb-break. It fits into the Kramer #2 IWB holster (made for a S&W M-66) but has about a quarter inch of slop rocking back and forth, due to the larger space to enclose the trigger guard. I can hold the Kramer holster, which lacks a thumb-break, upside down and the SP101 will stay in place but a slight jerk will let it fall free.

Personally, I would spend the money on a holster specifically made for the gun in question but, as my former teaching partner used to say, "It's your gunfight."

It is a loose fit. I am not familiar with the Bodyguard rig, but if it's a horizontal shoulder rig, I would advise against it.

SP101 is closer in size to a Colt Detective Special. I had a Milt Sparks EX Executive Companion made for the SP101 and it was just about a perfect fit for my DS. I understand that as long as its a leather holster, its OK, but a kydex holster will not work at all.
