I have an opportunity to purchase a virtually brand new 9mm barrel from a smith and Wesson M&P. I own an M&P in .40S&W I have been considering a conversion barrel.

Does anybody know if I can just use this stock 9mm barrel. The obvious answer seems to be that if they sell a conversion barrel there must be something different but then again I know at least one gunsmith that claims you can use a stock 9mm in a .40 glock without issue.

I know either way I will have to buy a 9mm magazine.

Just realized I didnt put this under autoloaders, could a mod move it for me.?

No, a factory stock 9mm barrel has a smaller outside diameter than the 40S&W barrel.

Conversion barrels that are 9mm to fit 40S&W frame/slide have an outside diameter equal to the stock 40S&W barrel.
Huh...

alright thats pretty much what I figured. I guess I get to spend a little more on a lone wolf barrel. At least this way I can get an extended / threaded one for my NEXT dream.
