I'm looking at the Alien Gear holster for my Beretta 84BB. They don't have one for that model. I used the site chat to ask if the Cheeta model would fit the 84. The chat person "has no idea". Not particularly helpful. The specs for each gun look pretty close. Google hasn't been much help on this either. I would appreciate anyone's knowledge on the subject. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that it will.
In 1998 we were looking for a holster for my wife's Browning BDA and found the Bianchi 19L. That holster fit that pistol fine as well as the whole series of Beretta pistols of the same size/frame as well as several other models (the Beretta .380 ACP, 84 / 84F, 3.75" Barrel, Beretta .380 ACP 84BB with 3.82" Barrel, Beretta .380 ACP, 85 / 85F, 4" Barrel, Bersa .380 ACP, Thunder 380 Conceal Carry, 3.25" Barrel, Bersa .380 ACP, Thunder 380 / Thunder 380 Super, 3.5" Barrel, Browning BDA 380, 3.8" Barrel).
Still have that holster. It's this one ...

The Beretta Model 02 OEM holster also states that it fits a wide array of Beretta pistols.

Leather is a bit more forgiving then kydex, but there isn't much variation between these pistols in their size so my gut instinct tells me that it would probably work fine.
Might want to call or email Alien Gear customer service, explain the issue and make sure that you have the option of returning it just in case it actually turns out not to work with your pistol and then order it. If you can return it there's not much downside to trying it out. :Shrug

I can only give you a guess, but my guess is that it will. The Models 84 and 85 have substantially the same frame and slide profile. The grips are different because they are, respectively, double- and single-stack. But the grips aren't what goes in the holster.
