Will colt S.A.A. grips fit my stampede?

Colt SAA grips won't even fit another Colt. They polish the grips and frame as a unit. Makes a perfect fit... on that particular gun... but swapping is almost a guaranteed miss. I have never seen a set of SAA grips come off one gun and fit properly on another. If you mean a new set never fitted to a frame, I have no idea how close Beretta and Colt are on the specs for their respective grips. Did you ask the manufacturer of the grips? They should know.

Well I sure did. I bought two sets of grips for my 3G SAA and neither fit, not even close. Finally had to send the gun off to a custome grip maker.

When you're not sure, remove the old grips and make a tracing of each. Include them with your order, and you are probably safe so far as size is concerned. However most revolvers with two-piece stocks have a locating pin at the bottom of the butt, and this pin may be differently located on the Stampede vs. the Colt. When you order something intended to be used on a different make or model expect to do a little work.

Single Action revolvers in particular have close but slightly different shapes. For that reason some grip-makers request that you send the gun (or just the backstrap and trigger guard) to insure a correct fit. Others will supply slightly oversized blanks so that you can fit them yourself.
