Will S&W 5906 mag fit in 6906

Does anybody know if the 15 round mag from a 5906 will work in a 6906. I have a 12 round mag and a couple of 10 round mags, however I would like to have a 15 round mag. Please let me know.

yes it does. CDNN has 17 round mags for cheap.

What he said. I have a couple 59 series mags and used them with my 6906 this past weekend. Worked great! In fact, someone makes a grip adapter for them - I have seen it here somewhere in a thread.

It will function, just stick out the bottom. If you want to put the extra length to good use, fashion a spacer/filler to function as a travel stop (to prevent overinsertion and possibly overriding the mag catch as you run the mag home) and wrap your hand around.

S&W used to offer them. I don't know if S&W makes them or somebody else does under contract. They may very well still be available through S&W. You can order them through Brownells. I have about a half dozen 5906 mags set up like this as well as a few 4006 mags for use with my 4013TSW (the 6906 frame was the anscestor of the 4013TSW). Anyway these things make it impossible to insert the mag for the larger gun too far into the mag well of the compact.

6906/4013TSW adaptor. It says it fits the .40 SW guns but it's also good for the 6900 series with use of 5900 series mags.

That adaptor looks neat. 59 and 69 series mags fit in my Marlin Camp Carbine 9mm.
