Will the high capacity magazines be banned? I hear people saying the AWB will not go through on a federal level so what about limiting magazines?

I read a local gun store in my area sold 3 1/2 years of magazines in 3 days. O_O

Speculation as to whether enough in Congress would vote it in or if it would be retroactive.

Personally, I am happy with 10 rounders.

However, IMHO a reasonable person could interpret the 2nd Amendment to protect 30 round magazines precisely because they are "Military Style"

I do not think any Supreme Court we see in our lifetimes will overturn a 10 round magazine limit.

I am happy with 10 rounders as well, provided that is the capacity the firearm was designed for.

I hope not, but I see it as more likely than the outright AWB. Sure thing, no but possible. I am NOT "happy with 10 rounders". If that happens without grandfathering i'll be forced to purchase another 1911. No point sticking with g21 for only +2, +5 yes but for 2 ill take the higher quality.

Wait just a minute while my crystal ball warms up and I'll let you know.

Crap - darn thing just blew a fuse again!

It happened before. However, a lot more people, including women have embraced gun ownerhsip, and standard capacity, double stack magazines since 1994. Politicians know that.

Get our your Ouija board. (Actually don't. I've been watching those Haunting shows, and all kinds of bad things happen with them.)

Personally I am not happy with going back to 10-rounders and refuse to be punished for the actions of a maladjusted little mutant from Connecticut.

"Do you mean 'will standard capacity magazines be banned?'"
Good point, we need to not buy into the anti-gun descriptions.

Just as the government always refers to "Obama Care" as the "Afordable Care". Not sure how increasing the cost and adding expensive reporting and enforcement requirements makes it afordable, but that is how it is described.

Nope, high capacity works better...

The Ruger 10/22, for example, has a standard capacity of ten rounds. That isn't what a ban will be going after. The high capacity 25 rounders will be targeted.

Personally, I say "higher capacity," since it shows a level difference between magazines that wouldn't be affected in a ban and those that would be.

The propose of higher capacity magazines is to be able to lay down a base of fire with out having to reload as often.

At the range I don't need to lay down a base of fire.
Unless its just for fun.

If your like me and you believe the 2nd amendment is to protect our way of life. If it came to that, A bunch of 30 round mags would be nice.

I think we have made a mistake by allowing the progressives to dictate the debate. They relate it to self defense and hunting.
While that is important its not the propose.
They will use hunting and self defense to deprive us of our ability to defend our way of life.

I have my 10 round mags for that use. But I also have my 30 round mags in reserve.

Ether way its a tough row to hoe. The propose of the 2nd amendment is to provide the people a way to over throw our own government.
And the progressive view is that government is a all good and knowing provider.

We don't know.

Monitor the House of Representatives, which is more likely to say, "No ban," than is the Senate. Keep an eye on which bills go to what committee and in the meantime keep on contacting your Representatives.
