Will there be any new Classic guns?

I repeat with emphasis... all Hi-Points will become classics because they fill an economic void just like VW Bugs did for decades.:D

They're not making the Ruger P/KP90 or P/KP94/944 anymore. Last of the alloy frame P series without a bunch of lawyerized stuff on it.

S&W 625JM.

S&W 617 10 shooter

Any of the S&W PC N frame .357 8 shooters. I could see the black tacticool R8 go classic.

In my opinion, it has to be a war-horse or a revolutionary gun to be called a classic. But that doesn't mean they should be re-made. It just won't have the same feel.

M1918 B.A.R. (CLASSIC)

AK47/AK74, M16/AR15/M4, and Glock 17/etc. will become classics. Basically any long term military or LEO gun will probably become a classic due to the attention.

^^^ Most important is the "percentage" they go up in value. From a purely investment point of view if, for some reason, firearms become difficult to acquire then the budget-priced firearms will skyrocket in value, IMHO.

There is a huge difference between classic and collectible. There will always be both, but to me a classic has more to do with a reflection of an era versus a significant increase in value.

S&W M10 = classic
Colt Python = collectible

IMHO, a "classic" is something the neophyte or non-hobbiest will immediately identify or associate w/ something significant, and something the enthusiast will want to add to his/her collection because of its history or 'coolness factor'. This is not to say that something that is classic is necessarily collectible, just that it is readily recognizable and/or desirable.

With that in mind, my list of classics (and their associations) are:

AR-15: The American GI rifle
Beretta 92: The American GI pistol
Remington 700: The American sniper's rifle
Glock 17: The first plastic gun [that holds 33 armor-piercing dumb-dumb [sic] bullets]
SIG-Sauer 226: The G-man gun
AK-47: THE assault rifle [that fires armor-piercing dumb-dumb [sic] bullets]
SKS: THE truck gun
Desert Eagle: The BIG gun
