I used to have a Williams 5D on this rifle and liked it a lot. But I wanted to tune some hand loads and couldn't see well enough out at 100 yds, so I put a 3-9x40 scope on it for a while. Pulled the scope for my new Savage and am really happy to get a Williams back on this rifle.
It feels so much lighter and the COG is back down where it belongs.
This time it's a Fool Proof, with a Fire Eye on the front.
Took it to the range today and froze my arse off (15 deg.). But I got her dialed in pretty close. I really like the click adjustments. Big improvement over the 5D.
I've never used the Fire Eye before and was wondering what the best sight picture would be. "Dot on the spot" or "Dot just under the spot".
I worked the trigger on this rifle and this is only the second time I've had it out since. It's breaking crisply at 4 lbs. as measured on an old Lyman "fish scale" trigger gage. It's has really turned out to be one of my favorites.
