Wilson Combats new Polymer...

That Wilson gun has got to be the ugliest thing I have ever seen!! The new Kimber polymer looks like a cross between a Steyr A1 and any HK. I think I could stomach the Kimber, but that Wilson I don't think I would spend one penny on.

Why are we getting so many polymer guns lately? We all ready have a crap load of differant options it isn't like we need any more. Unless they are majorly differant I don't see the drawing power.

OMG! That SOB better be the most accurate, smoothiest trigegr having, best feeling pistol out for someone to buy it and for Wilson to ahve made it! ***?

With the grip shaped the way it is, it looks like they kinda messed up the heat setting:what: Can we say uncomfortable. I guess I'd have to see and shoot one first before passing any judgement, after all it is a W-C, right?:uhoh:

I think I liked it better when is was the Stealth ADP imported from South Africa, and it cost a couple hundred dollars less. :) I believe that ADP stands for Alex DuPleiss who was the designer.

According to Wilson Combat it is the : Advanced Design Pistol:rolleyes:

Its ugly. I hote that Wilson does an excellent job. I would rather get one of their 1911s than this thing.

Close - Alex DuPlessis (pronounced doo-plah-see); I shot it when it first came out in SA - it was ok, nice little compact, but $579? Too much, sorry.

Edit: Alex - Jou ou skelm, jy gaan 'n bondel maak oor hierdie deal, of hoe? :D

Is it really that much different looking than a Glock 26?

Going by stats, they appear to be just about the same size. Differences to help set it apart is that the Wilson ADP has a safety, as well as this gas-operated recoil system (not sure how that's gonna work).

And remember that the list price is $579. I assume it will show up in stores under $500 - pretty much aimed right at the Glock 26 pricepoint.

Not to worry. Once they've gone a year sizeable sales, they'll either redesign it or discontinue it. Kind of reminds me of the SW99, though much less graceful and considerably worse looking. Lose the finger grooves guys. They make the gun look stupid and cheap. Who the heck designed that thing?

Definitely UGLY. Never found much value in the Wilson line of 1911's either. I believe the 47D of theirs is the best single stack 8rd magazine made however.
IMHO

Does that pistol look like felk, to anybody else. or some weird south African design?

Dude what are they thinkin, Kimbers is no better. Buy aglock if you want, but dude!:barf:

UGLY...what is it with polymer? I know it is cheaper. I have developed a great appreciation for metal. I do own an HK USP. My other pistols are a Smith 1911Sc and the Beretta 92FS. I am willing to pay for metal. Thinking about a Sig....

My Beretta is a pre ban

I understand that it is now almost obligatory that every firearms manufacturer make a polymer-frame handgun, but I really would have expected a better looking gun from Wilson. I mean, after all, their 1911's are amazing. I don't care if that's the smoothest-feeding, tightest-group-shooting, pleasure-of-a-gun to handle -- it's looks turn me off.

maybe there not selling enough of there over rated 2000 dollar 1911s so they need to make something to compete with the rest of the market.i do agree they are rather hideous.

It looks like the offspring from an unholy union between a Glock and a BHP.
I was thinking an unholy union between a Glock and a Hi-Point :barf:

I swear the boys at Wilson think putting their name on something makes it worth that much more ... I believe their last few business decisions have watered down the Wilson Combat name to the point that its meaningless.

If this pistol was in the $385 price range and not a POS it would sell well. I don't see that happening since this is Wilson we're talking about.

Its ugly but still the ugliest pistol is the Israeli replacement for the beautiful Jericho; the Barak! (even the name sounds icky)

:barf: :barf: :barf:

At least the new Kimber is somewhat stylish ... it reminds me of the FNP-9

"Oh, my, god. Becky, look at her butt.
It is so big. *scoff* She looks like,
one of those rap guys' girlfriends.
But, y'know, who understands those rap guys? *scoff*
I mean, her butt, is just so big. *scoff*
I can't believe it's just so round, it's like,
out there, I mean - gross. Look!"

That bu... umm... grips is super fugly. Overall very ugly. :barf:

I prefer the looks of the Steyr, Kimber polymer model, Taurus Mill Pro and 24/7, Glock, HK, XD, Walther P99,....

Yep, there's a lot of polymer pistols out there right now.

I dig it. The only thing I would change is the finger grooves. I'd really like to see one in person to make any kind of decision. It looks part Sigma. The Sigma, BHP, SW99, and the High Point all got in an orgy and somehow all of their chromosomes contributed to the birth of this child. If they fixed the Heritage/Tangfolio and made it work, and shaved off the grooves, maybe I'd rent it.

It is more like the unholy union between an HK P7 and a Glock.
As far as smoothness... yes, it is. Trigger? Fantastic and weird but I love it. Accurate? Well, shooting Blazer Brass ammo at the box it came in, it put all 10 shots into the letter B at 10 paces. For a compact little gun like this, that is fantastic accuracy. Shoots very nice too for a gun of its size. With night sights... and with Wilson's Armor Tuff finish... yeah, it is worth the money. Get a new Glock 26 with night sights and you are going to be in the same dollar range, and this one is a better shooting alternative to the Glock. Absolutely it is worth it.
