Win 231/HP-38 must be made of Unobtanium?

There is still product filtering down the retail lines. I walked in my LGS today looking for 2400. I settled on a lb. of Red Dot and another surprise... small rifle primers for $29/1000. I picked up a brick and left the other two on the shelf for someone else.

I bought W231 from Vance Bullets at the Indy 1500 for 18.00 a lb. He may still some. He buys 100lbers and fills bottles.

I am happy to report that I found a bottle of Win 231 at a local gun shop and for $28 out the door it is now mine - they actually had aa little bit more in the back if the clerk was to be believed - lol - but my brother for whom I was shopping this time was thrilled to know he would not have to ration his reloading/shooting.

I do hope that sanity returns to the marketplace soon.

Powder Valley has WST, Universal and WSF in stock. For some of my target loads, I actually prefer WST over W231/HP-38.

For full-power loads, I use WSF but Universal is another versatile powder like W231/HP-38 and attainable right now at Powder Valley.

I'm glad I live in a terrible place to shoot and have no time to reload. Midsouth was sold out of every single primer and Hodgdon powder when I looked online yesterday. Can't get anything else locally. I didn't think he'd get reelected so I only have a small stock on hand. No shooting for a while for me. I went to the local walmart last week and they were sold out of all ammunition except 270 and 30/06 premium hunting rounds.
