I have a Win Super Grade 338 Mag and it has the Leupold / Burris type turn in front base and the windage adjustable rear base. My problem is that the front ring that twists into the front base is centered between the 2 mounting screws and every scope I have tried the front bell of the scope hits the front ring before I get the scope far enough back to acquire a proper view through the scope. Is their an offset front base available that will let me get the scope back another inch or more? I have tried various scopes and haven't been able to get the scope where it needs to be.

I took off the scope bases that rely on the rear little bitty contact opposing screws on my 70s and put on the inexpensive Warne Maxima steel bases and use their steel rings orother Pic/Weaver rings which allow anything to be done and are NOT coming off or change their zero - ever !

Any base that would center the front ring between the front mounting screws would leave me with the same problem. I need a front base that will let the front ring move an inch or better to the rear.

I have a supergrade in 300 mag, same bases and rings and all I did was flip one of the bases around. Cant remember which one ill have to look when i get home. Its not as pretty but it works fine.

Base

You can buy bases with both offset or one offset. I have a set with the front base offset about an inch to counter exactly what your problem is.

I have plenty of wiggle room on the rear scope ring. I just keep running into the scope bell with the front ring. The front and rear base are front and rear specific so I can't swap the bases .

xtratoy, Leupold makes a front base that is called a reversable front that will move the front ring rearward. They also make a front ring that has an extension that places the front ring about an an inch to the rear. They are in the Leupold standard base (STD) section. I looked through my scope mounts and I have a set of 30MM Leupold rings that are exactly what you need if you have a scope with a 30 MM tube. They will be cheap. Send me a PM if you are interested. You can do much better than the bases you have. You couldn't give me anything with windage adjustable mounts unless the holes for the bases were not drilled correctly. That is what they are designed for. They were only meant for use on rifles that had issues and the scope ran out of windage adjustment. For less money than it would probably cost to buy extension rings you should look at either DNZ or Talley Lightweights. You'll end up with better mounts, for less money.

Burris XT bases with Burris Signature Zee or Warne Maxima rings.
Or EGW rail with Burris Signature Zee or Warne Maxima rings.
