Win 94 lever - Pre/Post 64

Does anyone know what needs to be done to a New (Post 64) Finger Lever in order to make it work in a Pre 64 (1962 Mfg) 94 Winchester?

I would take a schematic of each; break down the part differences and go from there.

The path of least resistance would be to reshape the original lever that fits and works correctly.
