Winchester 1300 Defender, True Choked

:what:I bought one of these from a private sale like 17 years ago for $150.00 bucks. It has been from Texas to California with me and now resides in Az. Along the way in a move, it got scratched. I blasted it and Dura-coated the receiver in Colt Grey. Came out fine for one of my first attempts. Back in Texas, I had a gun smith fit it with true chokes! :neener: It was fun to watch buddies when we would go sky blasting and I would pull out the Defender. They were amazed at the range at which I could knock stuff out of the air! I never told them it was choked!

OK, I am throwing my pics into the mix. The Winchester may not look & feel like the sturdiest pump option, but I LOVE the way it works. VERY slick action, very smooth overall. The last shot shows the useless junk I have hung on this defender in the past--

Sgt. Stiglitz - I blasted it and Dura-coated the receiver in Colt Grey

Sgt... The pics look pretty good. Pardon this stupid question but I'm not the most experienced when it comes to finishing a firearm. Truth be told I know a little LESS than nothing so help me understand.

What exactly is a Dura-Coat finish?
Does it improve as in protect or make tougher, the surfaces to which it's applied?
How does it come manufactured and how is it applied?
Thanks. I have 2 1300 one's a Defender the other a hunting model with a far longer barrel. If this Dura-Coat will protect & toughen them, I might invest and take a try at it myself. But again I know less than nothing so keep that in mind.
Thanks again! Great looking Defender, identical to mine.

Google it or go to You Tube and do a search of it. It's a two part epoxy paint. I put it on with a model air brush. It's easy to do. Better to blast the parts lightly before you spray it on. During the move to California, the receiver of the 1300 rubbed against something and left a big spot where all the anodizing came off, looked like crap. I cant anodize so I tried the Dura-coat. Looks brand new now! Had some weld work done on my Sub-gun too. Cant repark over welds so I dura-coated it with the same Colt Gray. Matched the Park perfectly! I shoot the Sub a lot and it has held up nicely! Ah, not identical, I have screw in chokes:neener:

1300 Pistol Grip!!

I've searched high and low and cannot find a ergonomic pistol grip for my 1300. I have the ATI style grip on it now and its mediocre to say the least. Don't want the top folding stock again (unless its metal) and the birdshead style grip is my last resort. Looking for a pistol grip that is made for bigger hands with finger grooves. Anyone have any suggestions? Here are some of the places ive searched to no avail:

Brownells
CTD
JGSales
Midway
Gunbroker

I've Google searched it multiple times already. Im thinking Ima have to just modify the ATI pistol grip myself. Any ideas? Thanks in advanced!!!

1300 vs 590

I have both of these. They are both great shotguns, put many rounds through both (Slugs, 00, Birdshot, skeet shots) and I have to say that although the 1300 was the smoother of the two, it came with a slightly heavier recoil. The 590 was a lil more tedious to strip down completely. Both were flawless when range time came around. I'm undecided whitch is my favorite!!!!LOL
