Took my latest addition out to the range. Found it took some getting used to. The rotary bolt of the Winchester 1300 felt strange at first but boy its a fast action. Yeah I know I gained 30 pounds in the last 7 months I guess its light beer and carrot sticks for the kid.

7+1 in 2 & 3/4.. Ahh just watch the video for the details.

I have a 20 gauge Model 1300 that I got an 18" barrel for it. Has a very slick pump action and I love the way it handles with the shorter barrel.

A 20 would be a nice shooting gun in the 1300 that is a prize sir.

Spazzy I love wood on steel. Don't get me wrong a synth stock is great especially for hunting but the wood looks soooo good.

Looks a lot like this one that I bought new back around '82 or so. I think mine was made during the transition between the 1200 and 1300 since it seems to have features from both models. Fun little shotguns and a real hoot to shoot. Congrats, and I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.

Looks like a good solid shotgun to me. Have you shot it more to get used to the rotary bolt? What can you buy them for sued these days?

I'd sleep soundly with that as my self defense weapon m

Had one like it back in the early 80's. Had to sell it to buy baby food, and I still miss it. But, I have a sweet 870 Defence and a Benelli M1Super90 Tactical, so I am over the trauma!

I sure love mine. All black synthetic, 20" barrel, no tactical doodads. Fast ation, and a natural pointer. Im a bit surprised it didnt come up in the topic about fighting shotguns.

If you want to, you can shoot it a lot faster with very little practice. Well, I must confess I did not have another pump shotgun to learn the different timing they require before I bought my SXP Defender (the 1300's direct descendant if I am not mistaken), so, I did not have to unlearn and then relearn it. The other shotgun I have is a 20 gauge in... bolt action, so, fast is not its strongest quality anyway, at least, not in my hands! :)

Less capacity in the newer version (5+1 in 2 3/4"), but very, very slick action, no rattle at all. The 18" barrel it came with is heavy, it feels (no scale policy at home, I also enjoy light beer and carrots :D) at least as much as the 28" one I bought separately, the latter being threaded for choke tubes and wearing a vented rib.

They sure are enjoyable shotguns to shoot, and the synthetic one I own is a light and handy weapon to carry afield.

I do not understand why they are being snubbed. I understand Americans not liking that they are made in Turkey now instead of America before, I truly do, but then not all shotguns recommended on THR are necessarily made is the United States. Sure, they do not have the track record of the Remington 870 or Mossberg 500, but I have not seen any flaw in them being pointed out here yet.

Enjoy it, it is fun!
