Winchester 1400 Mk2 price check please.

Hi,

I have a chance to buy a Win 1400 Mk2 shotgun. The pics I've seen show it to be in good to very good condition. Asking price is $200 face to face, so no tax is involved, just $200 bucks out the door.

My goal is to buy an entry level semi to see if I like trap/skeet. I'll never hunt with it, and I already have a HD shotgun, so it will just be a range/trap gun.

Good deal, bad deal, fair deal?

200 bucks is a good price on any modern autoloader that is as you say,

very good condition

The 1400 reputation is that it is not as durable as others. Some can be had a little cheaper than that also. Base your decision on what you said about very good condition! The 1400 wasn't the most popular model ever made, but for $200 OTD in very good condition I would buy it. Disassemble it and check it out real good before you fork over the cash. Carry some dummy loads to feed up in the magazine if you have them. Make sure the feed tube stop works etc. Clean it when you get it home and shoot the heck out of it. Love it long time!
