I don't know about any system. Mine's a 1400 and it's in 12 gauge and I don't even have a recoil pad on it because it's not needed, recoil is about like a pump 20 gauge with field loads. Funny thing, hotter the round, the easier the thing feels, too. I have used the gun to shoot ducks with hi speed Winchester steel shot and seems like it attenuates recoil even better than with 1 ounce field loads on dove. Might be my imagination, though, but that's even when wearing a T shirt as we do hunt teal in hot weather down here. When in a T shirt, I do use this gun in preference to my Mossberg. Only reason I like to use the mossberg is the nasty salt marsh environs and I don't wanna mess up my blued, wood stocked Winchester. The Mossy is plastic/camo finish.
So, if there's some sort of recoil reduction "system" in my gun that i didn't know about, I guess it works. I just figured that it was because of the gas operation. But, it's the softest shooting 12 gauge I've ever picked up, put it that way. It ain't weight, either, cause the thing is pretty light weight with an alloy receiver, handles really well and fits me like a glove. The one thing I've done to it is put a left handed safety on it which I got from Numerich arms.
