I am considering buying a like new 12ga Win1500 XTR for my wife. It has the Win choke system and the choke tubes. She shot trap with it today and for a beginner did pretty well with it. It cycled OK (single shot) with Win Lite Target loads.
I have done a search and found only limited info.
1) Is this gun any good compared to say a Rem 1100? (It is lighter)
2) Is the aluminum receiver a concern.
3) Am I likely to be able to find parts and service?
4) Do they have any chronic problems.
5) I think Winchester only made this model from 1978 until 1982. Why?
