Does anyone have one of these? How does it shoot? What is a good used one worth?

Well I don't have the specific rifle, but the 17hmr is an inherently accurate cartridge. It will shoot around 1MOA at 100 yards if the wind isn't blowing too bad. Much past 100 yards, it starts to lose velocity and drift a bit.

At 50 yards, it's like a laser beam compared with a 22lr.

I have the Winchester 9417 lever action and it is great. The 17 is very flat shooting and very accurate. It is a really fun gun. If you like the style of the 1885 I say go for it.

I don't know how they shoot. I have looked at a couple of the new ones at Cabelas in pa. The fit and finish was very substandard. The metal is matte finished. The wood was 1/32 ,or more, above the metal everywhere. The finish on the wood was also very poor. Grain was very open and it appeared to have very little finish on it. Did not look at all like the one pictured on the website. As i have only seen the two from recent production to gauge them against.

I ended up trading for one. I got a good trade. I really didn't want the rifle, but made out so I've got it and its for sale. Very beautiful rifle, but has a couple scratches and dings. It came with a Leupold VX-1 4-12x40 with flip-up caps and a box of ammo. I would love to keep it, but want to replace the guns I traded and make a little.
