Winchester 231 for G27

I have a question, I just got some Win. 231 from a friend.

I have a Stock barrel and I am using west coast 165gr. RNFP. in a Glock 27.

I loaded some loads at 5.8gr., 6.0gr., 6.3gr. COL 1.120

I have never used 231 before, by looking at the Speer manual I should be ok. But I would like another opinion.

My reloading experience is minimal. I would appreciate any help that I can get. I would hate to have a sore hand because of stupidity.

I also have some Power Pistol that I would like some load data on.

The Speer say's that for the 165gr. 7.0gr. - 7.8gr. would be ok.

Thanks Erik

I suggest you go to the Winchester web site, and see if they have W231 loading information for your cartridge. If not, check the major reloading manuals. If no one publishes a load, there is probably a good reason. Some powders just do not work well enough, or safely enough, to be used in a particular cartridge.
