Does anyone know if the Winchester 30-30 model 1894, manufactured 1943-44 ever came from the factory with a small 1/2 inch compass imbedded in the stock?
It depends upon:
The potential buyer
The quality of the "dime compass"
The quality of the work
Where the compass is placed
I have a thing for compasses in general and the vintage utilization of these "dime" compasses in particular so I've had great success in sales with items others might have considered ruined by the modification.
Think too about the fact that there is no iron clad standard as to the effect of period installed brass tacks or branded features on vintage firearms.
