I have looked everwhere to try and determine the value of a Winchester model 1894 .30/30. I wil post a pic, but was wondering how to determine it's value. It has the date Aug. 21, 1894 on the under belly and also has a saddle ring. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

The serial number, if there is one, might be more helpful to determine the age and approximate market value.

The date may be a patent or design date, and doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the date of manufacture. The serial number will help determine approximate age.

Fjestad's "Blue Book of Gun Values" has a listing of Winchester 94s and the years of manufacture. There is also some information about how to grade by NRA percentages, and approximately-retail values as a function of condition.
