I've looked at Winchester's .30 Cal (.308) 147 gr FMJBT on a few sites that sell them (Midway USA for one). The guys who shoot them love them and they're reasonably priced. But I can't find load data for this specific bullet. I've been to Winchester's site - nothing there I saw. I followed a link to Hodgon (as they make Winchester's powder now) but could only find load data on 150gr bullets - no specific data on this bullet. Here's what I'm looking for:
Bullet: Winchester 147 gr FMJBT
Caliber: .30-06 (.308)
Rifle: M1 Garand
Powder: H4895
Powder load: ????
I know what the powder loads are for 150gr based on the various reloading books/data I have (Lee, Lyman, Hodgon). Can I use the "starting" 150gr load data - believing that with a 147gr bullet I'd be just just a hair above minimum? I haven't bought these yet but I'd like to. But I won't without having some reliable data or reliable experience from the crowd here on THR. I love my Garand and don't want to do it any harm.
