Yup. got the pre-unnecessary-crossbolt-safety version with a decent walnut stock. Fun little rifle, great for plinking. Only hunting I have done with it was a couple groundhogs around the farm buildings. The 240 gr Hornady HPs seem quite adequate.
neophyte shooters really seem to take to it when I've brought it out at shooting sessions.

Win. Trapper 44's

I've got 3 of these fine little rifles in 44 mag. and they are good shooters for me. They hate lite weight bullets though. Stay with bullet weights of 240 gr or a little more. I shoot a lot of cast bullets in mine and they do fine. I like these little rifles so much that I have 5 differant one in varoius calibers. All are good rifles. They are very handy to have in my truck and I use the same loads in them as I do in my 44 mag handguns. :)

I have had a .44 Blackhawk for many years, now I will have a rifle that chambers the same round. Though I will probably load heavy for the rifle....300 grain Hornandy XTP, whereas the Blackhawk eats a 240 gr. XTP. Though for just messing around my favorite is the old standbye of 8 grains of Unique under a 240 LSWC.

You can probably find one load that works well in both without too much effort. The same 240g load will give you a little more punch in the 94 just by virtue of the extra barrel length.
I've had good luck with the 240g LSWC also, but I prefer the cleaner burning win 296 instead of Unique. I also get some nice groups and good velocity using an old 225g LSWC HP with a copper base cup (Speer?IIRC)

I had one of these years ago. I used the Horn 265 grn. bullet in mine. It worked well in my Super RedHawk as well as the Winny. The 265 is a nice med. between the 300's and 240's.
I thiink the load was 21.0 grns of W296. Mag primer. Shot well in both and accounted for 2 Black bear from the SRH. The biggest was 310 dressed. The 265 held together very well through both shoulders. It was recovered under the hide on the opposite side. Distance was just under 30 yds.
