Picked up a sorta' abused Winchester 670A in .243.
Never got great groups out of it, then I found out from my hunting buddy he used to borrow this rifle back in the 70's from the guy I bought it from.
The original owner isn't a neat/clean freak - I know firsthand he never cleans his rifles bore; he purchases a new one and the old one goes in the closet.
Long story short, in the mid 70's my buddy missed a deer with it with 4 shots, then the owner missed a few shots and put her up.
I cleaned up the bore - a week long process, but it is tough to get 1.5moa out of it with any handload I've tried.
The stock is an excellent Monte Carlo style and the trigger adjusted down to a excellent break point.
Has anyone used one of these?
I shoot shotguns ( well - used to before my current job) but know little about anything other than my hunting rig - a Remmy 700.
Any input is appreciated.
