Just FYI... I was in my Cabelas today... they have 2 new Winchester 92's... a .44 and a .45. One is a pistol grip (the .44) and the other a straight grip, both are priced at $1750. Not that they aren't beautiful rifles... and I'll be they shoot!... but I just don't see $1750 worth of rifle. Just me, and YMMV.

I do. But then, I may not be entirely sane ......

Well, I still live in the past. My Browning 71 was $700, and my Browning 1886 was about the same... but, of course, that's 1990'ish dollars. Granted, I spent $1750 on my M1a... so there is that.

Not that those rifles aren't real lookers... they certainly are! ...but I'd like to see, like the OP was looking for, just a plain-jane version like the old Brownings. Further, they should chamber it in .41 Magnum... but then, I'm may not be entirely sane. :D

For some reason, 357 levers are hard to find. The only one I see regularly is the Henry, which I personally own. Rossi no longer has it on their website and I haven’t seen one of the new Marlins yet.

Just FYI... they did have a .38SPC version, I'm not sure... it was either a '73 or '66, I don't recall. I think it was around $1200.

Picked it up today - absolutely beautiful Miroku made faithful reproduction of the original. I'll try to get some pics and post them later today, probably in a new thread but I will comment here when I do.
